I waited too long to buy shoes as now I'm up in the mountains/boonies and shoe shops are few and far between. Besides, I'm man enough to tough out a few blisters (no really). Shoes are pretty much broken in now anyway.

How goes things in the motherland?

Glad to see your having fun and trying out your language skills. Perhaps extend the practice sessions from hotel clerks to possible future brides? :-)
