Why hello jetlag
Not enough time to upload photos from yesterday, I only took some ones around a shrine I visited as Akiba and Harajuku aren’t exactly photogenic. It’s strange how jetlag can make some things seem so massive, in the late night fugue I began to question all manner of things, aspects of my life etc. Thoe twilight hours and likely compounded by fatigue and isolation made everything seem so huge and important, and I instantly wanted to retreat back and go for the familiar. Thankfully my pragmatism kicked back in and now I’m off to the fish market for an early start.
My brain was working so well but it seems my typing dexterity is hindering me getting across exactly what I mean. More later!

For someone so lagged by jet, you took some fine photographs, sir. “Sake barrels” looks especially fantastic. Nice mix of nightime and light, tradition and city. The Ueno strip at night is amazing to see as always. Even without jetlag I still get overwhelmed there, losing sight of my destination often and ending up at a Yaki-niku grill instead of that sushi place I intended to try.
Oh and Japanese keyboards. For s society so roboticized in many ways, they tend to revert back to luddites when it comes to IT. But that too is part of the charm of the country, one could say!

Thankfully any photo with cherry blossoms in it seems to come out well, just got to be sure not to absue that. We hit up the Ueno strip last night and had a wander down some of the side alleys with pachinko and all sorts going on – a fascinating place.
And you’re spot on abut the technology, a mixture of traditional and modern, stealing all the best bits from western society and making them their own. You can tell I’ve been reading up the Meiji Restoration!

The pedals looks incredibly lush, too. It must have been a cold winter in Tokyo. Or camera hax!
Good call on Meiji. Though, I have to point out that it’s not stealing since they paid for all that fancy European education and such.^^
